What we Do?Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI)

The V-Net solution is specifically designed for product categories that are traditionally very difficult for retailers to forecast. The Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) approach is typically adopted using the V-Net Solution.

VMI is defined as the vendor (supplier) taking control of the inventory management process on behalf of their retailer customers. The actual purchase order by store is created by the vendor (supplier) using the complex consumer demand forecasting models within V-Net solution.

Therefore, the retailer empowers the vendor to take ownership of the replenishment process by using V-Net’s advanced inventory management capabilities.

The V-Net Solution

The V-Net VMI service model can be deployed across a number of trading relationships with retail customers including;

  1. Sale and return
  2. Firm Sale
  3. Consignment

Retail Inventory Management Solution

The V-Net solution is specifically designed for product categories that are traditionally very difficult for retailers to forecast.

Retailers who are finding it difficult for their store staff or buying teams to forecast the consumer demand for certain product categories can employ the V-Net solution to enable an automated inventory management system using complex benchmarking and forecasting algorithms.

V-Net captures information from all points of the supply chain from consumer sales at a daily store and item level, through to warehouse shipments and stock inventory levels from each store and distribution centre.

We are able to create an inventory management process that accommodates the following key retailer business processes;

  1. Initial allocation and ongoing replenishment of new product lines.

  2. Initial allocation and ongoing replenishment of promotional campaigns.

  3. The analysis required to develop and maintain a core range based on the
    in-store merchandising strategies of a retailer.

  4. The ongoing automated replenishment of the core range product lines.

  5. A complete suite of category reporting and analysis specifically designed
    for category management.

To close the category management loop, we have the ability to provide shelf management software tools with the data required to develop and maintain plan-o-grams.

To assist with in store compliance V-Net has the ability to interface critical inventory information with field merchandising software. This enables field merchandisers to ensure the retail stores are merchandised as per the agreed standards and principles of the category management team.

Category Reporting and Analysis

The V-Net Solution can be deployed as a Category Management and Reporting system.

We import retailer POS data by store and product line on a daily basis. This functionally rich data is compiled and summarised in many hierarchies based on the needs of our individual suppliers and retailers.

The data can be accessed via 2 key methods;

1.   Standard Reports

There are over 70 standard reports within the V-Net category reporting and analysis system.

These reports can be scheduled to run automatically on a periodic basis, and are delivered to email addresses based on the nominated recipients allocated to each report.

This ensures that the senior management team spends their valuable time analysing the key reports and making key business decisions with fact based information.

The standard reports cover many key areas of business including;

  1. Product Category Reviews
  2. Business Reviews
  3. Inventory Management
  4. Product Range Management
  5. Promotional Management

2.   Detailed Business Analysis
The business analysts can access the data within the V-Net solution to conduct more detailed business analysis.

These business analysts become the power users of the V-Net solution and provide senior management with detailed analysis on opportunities to improve the performance of their respective business units.

The data required can be highlighted via a number of enquiry and history exports screens. The nominated data is delivered via an automated export into the Microsoft Excel application.

The business analysts are able to manipulate this data export within Excel to conduct the analysis required.
